By exploring the diversity of life on earth, you will develop a sense of the God-given responsibility to be good stewards of creation. Experience wonder at the intricacies of creation through scholarship and scientific research. You will learn to collaborate with a team to consider the development of science and its role in the modern world. Working with our scholarly faculty in classrooms and research labs, you’ll be fully prepared to pursue your professional goals, whether in scientific careers or in graduate studies. 

Our emphasis on hands-on experiences helps our students stand out on job and graduate applications. From field work at the 700-acre Gilliam Biological Research Station to our microbiology and genetics laboratories, we provide students with opportunities to learn new skills and practice analytical thinking.
